HMAS Adelaide Photographic Competition

The ex-HMAS Adelaide photographic competition winner announced - yes it was yours truly.

The picture is of the forward gun turret with Paula coming out of the holds depth.

The black and white image was taken with a an Olympus E410 and 7-14 Zuiko 4/3 wide angle lens. I turned the ISO up a good deal to get this image. No strobes were used.

Thank you to all the sponsors:

Crowne Plaza Terrigal (Accommodation); Aquanaut (Sharkskin & Neptune Products); Tree Tops Adventure Park (Passes); Australian Reptile Park (Passes); Department of Lands/Central Coast Tourism (ex-HMAS Adelaide dive permits).

Without their contribution, events like this would not take place.

Thank you to the Central Coast Marine Discovery Centre for hosting the exhibition and pre/post events. The centre always features great content and is only too happy to share their vast marine knowledge with the local and wider community.

Thank you to Robb Westerdyk and Peter Hudson for their tireless work in promoting the ex-HMAS Adelaide.

The above photo was taken at the award night by Robb Westerdyk.

Next this group of NOMBYs will be complaining about all the flmamable Dihydrogen Monoxide & explosive Sodium Chloride in the ocean. Maybe they should learn some basic chemistry as well as learning to scuba dive.
