Hackin Jackson - a new dive site
On Thursday and Friday of the Christmas week we visited a new dive site - 'Hackin Jackson'.
Thanks Lyn and Neil for a fabulous day out on the water.
Two great dives on this new site - a bommie east of the Pinnacle. The top of the bommie sits at 20 meters and graduates down to 30 meters.
Large schools of fish - Tasmanian trumpeter, mowong etc, big rays, banjo sharks, Eastern Blue Devil Fish and large cuttlefish abound. A small hammerhead sunned itself on the surface as we watched.
So far TUG has made 5 exploratory dives to the site. Definitely the pick of the bommie site - at least so far - lies on the southern side.
If we were to name this area of the bommie I think we should keep the name to a theme associated with 'Hackin Jackson'. My suggestion is 'Peter Jackson' or 'Philip Morris'. Neil Vincent suggested we should call the area 'Smoke Free'.
Enough! Just go out and have a look for your self.
